Setting the Standard in AZ Roofing Since 1993
No ladders, no guesswork—just clear insights into your roof’s condition.
At Lyons Roofing, we are pleased to offer drone roof inspections – an advanced, high-tech method for a comprehensive inspection of your roof. Unlike traditional inspections, our drone inspections provide a complete aerial view, capturing details from small cracks in the roofing material to thermal evidence of water damage.
With our drone technology, we can spot the issues others overlook. With the use of our drone technology, problems are easily identified with better aspect ratio. This means that you get a more accurate, reliable assessment of your roof’s condition without the risk of further damage to a sandcast tile, shake or other fragile/inaccessible roof system.
◉ Improved Accuracy and Thoroughness
Drone inspections accurately record and analyze the rooftop with the utmost thoroughness. Our drones capture every angle and every detail.
◉ Optical and Thermal Overview
With this technology, we will have a full overview and the ability to pinpoint problem areas enabling us to develop a report that will be clear and actionable for your roof.
◉ Specific Issues Identified
Drone inspection can identify many issues like broken, chipped, or cracked tiles; clogged valleys and gutters; foam blisters; and weather damage in the form of hail strikes or shingle uplift.
◉ Detect Water Intrusion with Drones
Thermal imaging cameras may also assist us in detecting water intrusion and measuring the reflectivity and heat emission of the coating on your roof; all key factors in your roof’s energy efficiency.
We will provide accurate, up-to-date pictures of your roof so you can see its current condition. This documentation will be helpful with insurance claims, planning maintenance, and providing knowledge about your roof’s health. Whether you’re trying to remedy storm damage or just want to be proactive with roof maintenance, our drone inspections put the details in your hands.
◉ Being Proactive vs. Reactive:
Because we are able to identify smaller issues before they become larger issues, your roof may be eligible for repair vs. reroofing, thus you are proactively protecting your roof’s integrity vs. reacting to an emergency. Regular inspections and maintenance may help prolong the serviceable life of your roof and extend its serviceable life.
STEP-BY-STEP DRONE INSPECTION PROCESS
PRE-FLIGHT PREP
For each flight, we obtain airspace clearance from the FAA’s LAANC system. This is particularly important when flying in Arizona, as restricted airspace is commonly found throughout Phoenix and Tucson.
FLIGHT AND DATA CAPTURE
Our licensed drone operators fly the drone at multiple altitudes, capturing high-resolution images of your roof. The drone will fly in a preconfigured pattern to ensure full coverage and the drone operator can make adjustments for various conditions and roofing materials.
◉ Data Processing:
All images are then stitched together to create a detailed 3D model of your roof. This model is then annotated by our team to identify potential hazards and points of concern.
◉ Reporting:
The report generated after the analysis is quite detailed and can be shared digitally. It has interactive maps and images that will enable you to clearly understand the condition of your roof and our findings and recommendations.
◉ Training and Certification of Operators:
Our drone operators are FAA Part 107 licensed to safely and efficiently perform drone inspections. In addition, Lyons Roofing has developed standard procedures which guide the safe and proficient operation of our drones.
◉ Focus Areas in Detail on Roof
Drones allow the collection of images in detail from every corner or section of the roof including valleys, flashings, chimneys, penetrations and protrusions. It is possible to observe flaws like a slipped or broken tile, foam blisters, or even damage on collateral equipment such as HVAC units or vents. Drones can provide an additional layer of visibility especially when a roof is fragile or inaccessible by walking.
◉ Technology and Software Used
Along with the state-of-the-art drone technology company Dronestitute, we employ highly advanced software to process the data gathered. The software aggregates hundreds of images to prepare an in-depth map that our experts utilize to develop their findings and recommendations for your roof.
◉ Safety and Privacy Concerns
Our drone pilot operators go through pre- and post-flight checklists to ensure that our drones are in tip-top shape and the inspection environment is safe. Regarding privacy, our drone inspections are no more invasive than a Google Maps picture to check on the state of the roof. Homeowners are advised before we fly for inspection. Backyards, or other sensitive areas, are avoided.
◉ Results Presentation
Within a reasonable period of time after your drone inspection is completed, you will receive a detailed and interactive report. It includes a digital map of your roof, highlighting areas of interest. We can present these findings in person, virtually, or share them via a secure link — whatever works best for you.
◉ Data-driven decision-making
The level of detail in the data that our drone inspections provide assists our roofing professionals in making the correct diagnosis and prescribing the right remedy for your roof. No more guesswork—say goodbye to general recommendations. You’ll receive clear detailed images and analysis.
◉ Customized Repair Solutions
Each roof is unique, and our drone inspections uniquely tailor repair solutions to your specific needs. Whether you have a tree-shaded roof or a full-sun exposure, we do a thorough analysis that allows us to address the very specific challenges your roof experiences.
◉ Detection of Hidden Issues
Our drone technology, with thermal imagery, can detect issues invisible to the naked eye. This is illustrated in a case of water intrusion under the roof detected by our drone but not evident via a visual inspection.
At Lyons Roofing, we believe experience is the great equalizer. Our roof repair team remains in the relentless pursuit of creating a great customer and employee experience.
